Welcome to Central Florida Police Athletic League!
Message From the Executive Director:
The Central Florida Police Athletic League (PAL) is an organization that has a sustained legacy in the Mercy Drive, Silver Star and Pine Hills communities. Our organization's conception was over thirty years ago and to this day we are continuing its mission of preventing juvenile crime and violence by providing athletic, educational and recreational activities to assist at-risk youth. Our continued partnership with the City of Orlando Family, Parks and Recreation department has allowed our programs to be successfully operated from the Northwest Community Center.
The City of Orlando has an initiative to reduce crime and juvenile delinquency which positions PAL with the responsibility to reach more youth. PAL is committed and prepared to set the tone that "Every Child Needs A PAL". With this great initiative, we will work more aggressively to be a safe haven for youth and provide additional enrichment services and resources. In 2009, we serviced 851 unduplicated youth. Our goal this year is to reach 1,000 unduplicated youth. Ultimately, we will be the premier alternative for Central Florida's youth! I am one who believes that the solution to juvenile mischief is simple - Get Involved! Getting involved means that you are becoming part of the solution and not adding to the problem. Central Florida PAL is involved and is equipping and empowering our youth to be successful.
Our youth are filled with vision and purpose. I invite you to join me, our staff and Board of Directors in helping our youth - one child at a time. This year we have planned great activities, exciting educational, enrichment and sports activities but mostly FUN! On behalf of the Central Florida Police Athletic League, we appreciate your continued support, as we Fill Playgrounds - Not Prisons!
Regards
